A little about me.
Casey here, residing in beautiful Bozeman Montana. What’s not to love about this place? During the summer I have numerous blue ribbon trout streams at my door. I work less than 300 yards from the Gallatin river, and I can be on the East within 15 minutes from my home. Within 30 minutes I can be at either the Madison or the Yellowstone. If I feel like driving an additional few minutes I can be at the Boulder or even the Missouri. How can you complain about this type of access? The answer is simple: You can’t.
In the winter, I also have the luxury of having 3 killer ski resorts within an hour. Bridger is twenty minutes away and with the opening of Slushmans it has made it a very attractive destination. Moonlight and Big sky share the same mountain, but not the same ownership, so that makes Moonlight a slight favorite as it is a bit easier on the wallet. The downfall of this is of course it is a North Facing resort which means the snow is awesome, but it is colder, windier and very little sun after noon. This does have its advantages as everyone who comes to Montana wants nothing more than to ride the big money name of Big Sky, which has an impressive amount of terrain, but it comes with more crowds, faster tracked out snow, and the obvious higher ticket prices, but this also leaves the wonderful tree runs of Moonlight basin free of people, which is how I like it.
So this blog will mainly focus on the fishing, but in the winter you will probably get some snow reports and since I poke around with a camera you might get some misc pictures as well.
